Employees celebrate April milestone anniversaries

Several SGI employees celebrated milestone anniversaries with the company in April.

Annapolis Plant

Danny Chandler marked 20 years with SGI on April 23. Chandler is a Heavy Equipment Mechanic responsible for supporting industrial maintenance activities at the site by repairing and maintaining the site’s heavy equipment.
Jeff Nichols also celebrated 20 years with SGI on April 23. As a Production Loader Operator, Nichols operates an excavator and loader to support production activities.

Charmian Plant

Charles Schultz marked 45 years with SGI on April 10. As a Mechanic, Schultz supports industrial maintenance activities at the site by improving and repairing the site’s heavy equipment, including conveyors, crushers, bucket elevators, fans, kilns, and mixers.

Ione Plant

Karen Munson marked 10 years with SGI on April 16. As the Cost Accounting Manager, Munson is responsible for maintaining financial controls at the site; implementing financial processes to lead financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting efforts; analyzing financial reports; and ensuring the site reports financial outcomes correctly.

Kremlin Plant

Josh Wognernese marked 20 years with SGI on April 7. As a loader in the shipping department, Wogernese supports the shipping activities at the site to ensure on-time delivery of high-quality products to customers.
Michael Collins marked 20 years with SGI on April 28. Collins is a machinist, responsible for supporting maintenance activities at the site.
Cory Groeneveld also marked 20 years with SGI on April 28. He is a Supervisor, Mill, and oversees milling and crushing operations.

Hagerstown Corporate Headquarters

Chad Wills marked 20 years with SGI on April 21. Wills is a Project Manager for SGI’s Innovation and Sustainability Department, and supports the ongoing development of company offerings in the agriculture industry. He also manages SGI’s Advanced Pelletization Plant in Waynesboro, Pennsylvania.
Doug Cechovic marked 25 years with SGI on April 29. As Senior Director, Business Development – Roofing, Cechovic is responsible for understanding the challenges and needs of SGI’s roofing customers and managing the sale of roofing granules to asphalt shingle manufacturers. He previously led quality assurance efforts for SGI.

More than a third of SGI team members are celebrating 10 years or more with the company in 2023.
